  1. Click Start>Settings>Devices.
  2. Choose Printers & Scanners.
  3. Click Add a printer or scanner.
  4. Scroll down and click The printer that I want isn't listed.
  5. Select the Radio button for Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname.  
  6. Click the Drop-down menu for Device type and choose TCP/IP Device.  In the Hostname or IP address field, enter the name of the printer.Image Removed  Uncheck the box that says Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use.

  7. Select the radio button for Use the driver that is currently installed (recommended) and click Next.  
  8. Change the name in the Printer name field to the name of the printer and add (Secure Print) at the end and click Next.
  9. Printer will install.
  10. Select the radio button for Do not share this printer and click Next. 
  11. Check the box for Set as the default printer if desired and click Finish.
  12. Right-Click the Start  button, choose Search, type Control Panel in the Search box and click on Control Panel when it appears in the list.  
  13. This will bring up the Windows Classic Control Panel.
  14. Under Hardware and Sound, click View devices and printers.
  15. Right-Click on the Secure Print printer and choose Printer Properties.
  16. The printer properties window will open.
  17. Click the Preferences button.
  18. Click the drop down under Job Type and choose Secure Print.
  19. This will bring up the Secure Print Passcode window.  Enter a 4-10 digit Passcode and Confirm.  Click OK.
    1. IMPORTANT!  This code cannot be recovered in any way.  If the user forgets their Passcode, the Secure Print printer will have to be removed and re-added and any documents locked under the Passcode will have to be deleted.
  20. Click the drop down under 2-Sided Printing and choose 2-Sided Print.  
  21. Click the Image Options Tab.
  22. Check the box for Xerox Black and White Conversion.
  23. Click OK.
  24. Click the Advanced tab.
  25. Click the Printing Defaults... button.
  26. The next steps are the same as steps 17-22.  This is intentional.  These settings have to be set the same way in two different locations.  
  27. Click the drop down under Job Type and choose Secure Print.
  28. This will bring up the Secure Print Passcode window.  Enter a 4-10 digit Passcode and Confirm.  Click OK.
