Printing Asset Tags from AiM

  1. Log in to AiM and navigate to the Asset Management module.

  2. Click on the "Asset Tags" link in the Report Listing.

  3. The parameters screen for the report will load.

    1. Start by selecting the relevant Building that contains the assets you want to print tags for.
    2. The Rooms that have active assets in them will load in the list below once a Building is selected. 
      1. Pick one or more rooms that contain the assets you want to print tags for. 
      2. To select multiple rooms in the list, hold down Ctrl while clicking on each room you want to include.
      3. BE SURE TO SELECT ALL IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO FILTER BY THIS CRITERIA.  To select all rooms, click and hold starting with the first room (not the blank entry) and drag to the bottom of the list.
    3. The Asset Description field will search for a description that contains exactly what you enter in that field.
      1. For example, you might enter "AHU" in the field to search for any assets that have "AHU" as part or all of its description.
      2. Leave the Asset Description as-is (it should say *ALL*) if you do not want to add description criteria to your search.
    4. The Asset Group field allows you to filter by one or more asset groups.
      1. Pick one or more Asset Groups that contain the assets you want to print tags for. 
      2. To select multiple Asset Groups in the list, hold down Ctrl while clicking on each group you want to include.
      3. BE SURE TO SELECT ALL IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO FILTER BY THIS CRITERIA.  To select all Asset Groups, click and hold starting with the first group (not the blank entry) and drag to the bottom of the list.
    5. The Asset Type field allows you to filter by one or more asset types.
      1. Pick one or more Asset Types that contain the assets you want to print tags for. 
      2. To select multiple Asset Types in the list, hold down Ctrl while clicking on each type you want to include.
      3. BE SURE TO SELECT ALL IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO FILTER BY THIS CRITERIA.  To select all Asset Types, click and hold starting with the first type (not the blank entry) and drag to the bottom of the list.
    6. When you are finished selecting your criteria for the search, click "OK"
  4. The resulting BIRT report will be displayed.  The number of pages indicates the number of active assets matching your criteria that were found.

  5. Click on the Export Report button (fourth from the left)
  6. Ensure the Export Format "DOCX" is selected, then click "OK"

  7. You should see a Microsoft Word document downloaded in your browser.  Open it.
  8. Make any necessary modifications to the labels in Microsoft Word (if the text for a label is long enough to wrap to a second page, for example, then modify the text so it fits)
  9. When ready, print the labels to your label printer
