Guidelines for Employees
- WaterShed Rain Gear is made to order through WaterShed in Salem, Oregon. The State of Oregon has a Contract with WaterShed that the UO uses for purchasing high quality Rain Gear. All WaterShed Rain Gear purchase requests must be approved by the employee’s supervisor. Once a supervisor has approved the purchase, the employee will refer to the attached Garment Type and Sizing Charts to decide what Rain Gear Garments s/he wants. (Standards have been established for Landscape Crew and followed by Maintenance Shop as to Style and Safety Enhancements.) There is a standard 6-8 week Lead Time for Rain Gear Garments as these are made to order.
- An Aim Purchase Request must be entered for every Rain Gear Garment purchase to be processed by FASS Purchasing Buyers.
- Employee reads WaterShed Sizing Charts to decide what size their comfortable with to fit over their normal work clothing when they need to wear Rain Gear. If they’ve decided on a size but need alterations to either shorten/lengthen the Sleeves of the Jacket or the Inseam of the Bib Overalls or Rain Pants, this can be done at an additional charge. (For Landscape Crew, oftentimes, workers try on the existing Rain Gear of fellow Landscape Crew members to get an idea of fit. The Landscape Crew cleans their Rain Gear with NikWax products so the Rain Gear does not have to be soiled if an employee chooses to try on a garment of a coworker.)
- Style and Sizing Charts are attached in Forms field below. ***Double Seat & Knee GORE-TEX, Leg Zippers, 3M Reflective Tape on the Side of Pants and Bib Overalls, and the Front and Back of the Jacket, the Body Length of the Jacket is 30”, and Pit Zippers in the Jacket are part of the established standards for Landscape Crew. The Color ordered is TGR – GREEN.***
- Once Style and Sizing has been determined, the employee has her/his Supervisor approve the purchase and enters in a PRQ into AiM for FASS Purchasing.
