AMAG - Change Server Name or Symmetry Advanced Reporting

If the AMAG server name changes you will need to re-point your Symmetry Advanced Reporting installation to the new server by following the steps below.

Step-by-step guide


  1. Open Symmetry Advanced Reporting


  2. Once the software is open, click on Options on the left side


  3. On the Options screen click on Datasource, you should seen entries for the Multimax and MultimaxTxn databases


  4. On the right side of the screen click the hamburger (3 horizontal lines) and then click Edit
  5. On the windows that pops up you should see the old server name (uopd-amagserv) in the Server field. Change this to the new server name (uopd-amagserv2)


  6. After changing the server name click Validate and if the server name you typed in is valid you will see a 'Connection valid' with a checkmark in the lower left corner of the Connection window


  7. Do this for all datasources listed.
  8. Once all of the datasources are edited you should see them with the new server name on the Datasource screen


  9. Go back to your Report Library on the left side and run a report to test and make sure reports are still working.
