This procedure provides a consistent way to ensure motorized equipment is used and maintained according to all State of Oregon, University of Oregon, and CPFM policies and regulations.
FASS Agent Step-by-step guide
Stores Warehouse
- The operator shall observe all precautions due to pedestrian and bicycle traffic around the campus
- Vehicles shall only be operated in authorized areas.
- Scheduled and unscheduled repairs will be the responsibility of Mobile Equipment and work orders will be initiated by the Stores Warehouse Property Specialist(s) when required.
- All State of Oregon, University of Oregon, and CPFM motorized equipment policies and regulations will be observed at all times (LINK). No one is authorized to operate the Stores Warehouse forklift, golf cart or van without appropriate certifications.
- The Stores Warehouse Property Specialist(s) will maintain motorized equipment assigned to the Stores Warehouse. The Property Specialist(s) will perform daily inspections of the motorized equipment and report any discrepancies to the Purchasing and Mobile Equipment Mangers. Battery charging is the responsibility of the Stores Warehouse Property Specialist(s) this includes ensuring proper water levels in the battery packs.
Forklift
- Shall only be operated in the Stores Warehouse and surrounding areas that are paved or concrete surfaces. The Stores Warehouse forklift is not designed to operate on gravel or unpaved surfaces.
- The operator shall possess a valid state driver’s license, UofO Driver Certification available through Transportation service and golf cart authorization form.
Golf Cart
- Shall only be driven on designated pathways and university streets. The golf cart is primarily to be used to make materials deliveries to campus locations.
- The operator shall possess a valid state driver’s license, UofO Driver Certification available through Transportation service and golf cart authorization form.
Van
- The Stores Warehouse van shall be used to pick-up materials from local vendors to expedite the necessity for materials. Occasionally, the van will be used to make deliveries of materials that exceed the capabilities of the golf cart to campus locations. The van shall be fueled at the CPFM fuel dispensers (link to instructions) by the Stores Warehouse Property Specialist(s).
- The operator shall possess a valid state driver’s license and a valid University of Oregon driver’s license.
